Data Migration Project - Horizon Housing Group
As my experience increased in this position, with the manual integration of data from property management systems with accounting operations systems the need arose for a new bespoke integrated property management and accounting system to be developed. This was a cross-group operation that integrated all previously separate operations. This required the clean-up, verification and transfer of big, critical and confidential data to the new program. Extensive testing of the new program was also required which often entailed dual operation of the old and new systems to ensure correct operation. This immersive detail-oriented project also gave me experience with big data and data mining. I also had the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with some of the program developers giving me invaluable back door IT experience and technical skills. This experience was instrumental in developing my communication, collaboration and team-work skills.
Built a successful, profitable family building business Ox Bricklaying Ltd
With decades of construction and financial experience between us, I am proud of supporting my husband in the establishment and growth of his bricklaying business that was established in 2019. While the impeccable reputation of my husband has been the driver of his success and contributed to the continued operation and profit during Covid restrictions, the development and implementation of the accounting systems was completed and maintained by me alone. I was integral in the development of the company mission and implementing industry standards. As finance manager I was responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of the financial system. And continue to monitor, adjust and control the accounting activities within the organisation. This position has also led to experience with budgetary and accounting strategies and interpreting the implications for business performance. This position inevitably led to experience with payroll and an introduction to employment relations.
